Welcome

A Message from Our President

Greetings to our Current and prospective members!

Welcome to the National Association of African Americans in

Human Resources (NAAAHR) Tampa Bay Chapter's website.

It is with great pleasure and honor that I introduce and share

information about our chapter.

NAAAHR is a dynamic and growing organization which exist

to provide a forum where people of color in Human Resources

can gain information, explore innovative ideas, share unique

experiences, best practices and become true ‘Quilters’ of our

Legacy.

Our Legacy is the solid foundation of our achievement.  For

no others can duplicate it and no others have traveled our journey.   As Dr. Bertice Berry articulated in the celebration of  NAAAHR 10th Anniversary, we must strive to create a virtual web of connection by ‘creating and preserving’ our history, our commitment, our heritage and our dedication in advancing the careers of African Americans promoting the human resource profession – we must go beyond networking and learn to ‘quilt’.   With that in mind, our theme and focus for 2009-2010 is “Quilting Our Legacy”

Our leadership team has approached 2009 with renewed energy.  Guided by a new strategic plan, the leadership is responding with a deepened commitment to build coalitions, create alliances and enhance our efforts by drawing on the talents, knowledge, connections, experience and other resources of the Minority HR community.  Building synergies among HR professionals, who represent influential organizations and businesses in the Tampa Bay area, can and will improve the caliber of our workforce.  We will help one another grow and develop as professionals; we will be a catalyst of change.  In addition, we want to be ‘the’ resource for community organizations, professional associations, and corporations regarding diverse applicant sourcing, best practice sharing and community partnering.

So, peruse our website and learn:

Ø      The chapter mission, vision, values and goals

Ø      The benefits of membership/sponsorships

Ø      The recent and upcoming events

Ø      The development of organizations we partner with

Thank you for visiting our website and I hope you will decide to join us and get involved.  The sooner you get started the faster you are helping us, help ourselves.
